The next day we headed out to inquire into the fate of Donavan or as some might say the Master of Death. Having reunited with everyone except Niam we made our way to the Temple and were met by Mystra Guards. Which to me was not a good sign and soon without much fanfare we Falcon was escorted and we were politely told to depart but to feel free to return on the morrow it we wished to inquire about the Donovan the Death Lord sorry Priest of Mystra.
I found it odd as we leisurely returned to the Safe Have Inn how calm and collected Invelous was and I will admit I found it odd when I thought back on it for we had basically been told that Donavan was being held inside and it was obvious to me what had happened the question was how bad was it. I did not have much to go on but it’s not like the Mystra Temple has ever just closed before for no apparent reason. Add to that that Donavan was in custody within his own temple and his right hand man literally escorted inside the Temple anyone who could fail to do that math deserves to be drawn and quartered and devoured.
I voiced a few concerns to Invelous about Arrol as well as Donovan but it seemed that Invelous now that we were in the city seemed to no longer seem to be suffering from the same paranoia that he had in the wilderness. Either that or it could have been the fact that Donovan and Falcon were walking up behind us at the time. So instead of perhaps heading elsewhere we instead headed back to the Safe Haven Inn where we were to as Falcon put it rest the day and speak on the morrow of matters of grave import. Really was all I could think as I had looked at Donovan and he seemed diminished he no longer seemed to carry the same arrogant swagger that I had come to expect. Well I guess it would be a long night.
It was indeed a long night for late that evening both Arrol and finally Niam returned to the Safe Haven Inn like moths to a flame or more likely like lambs to the slaughter. Well let’s get the record straight my name is Caspian and I am a wolf and come what may on the morrow I am going to acquire a few items in order to ensure that whatever infernal or abyssal mess Donavan plans to ring us into I will be prepared and that may very well mean a little hiatus of fourteen days for Arrol to be caught up to speed. While I had hoped to wine and dine Bolora our female dwarf the whole situation was giving me a headache and of course I realized the only cure was more gold so I was stuck between a rock and a gold piece with this group of even more greedy brigands but they were my kind of brigands.
