So it was a new day without my new infatuation Hollyella and the first day where I would be overseeing my new as one might say co-apprentice Arrol. One had to really wonder what was in store for the day. If I could count on anything at least I figured it would not be boring. On another note Donovan the Reformed was sleeping next door with his companion Falcon if you know what I mean. If made more sense not that I thought about it why they had rebuked me in the past looking back at it. Anyway he had returned the night before and had wanted to meet with us in the morning regarding according to him matters of great import really I had thought was that perhaps his dark past had caught up with him and it was time to pay the piper.
Well I was right at breakfast where everyone eventually showed he discussed a mission to save someone’s live that was of grave importance to the Temple of Mystra. Combine that with his almost broken look and shy demeanor and I just knew something major must have occurred. Either way he claimed that he was required to go on this very dangerous mission eight days south of Waterdeep and could really use our help. I had told him that I would not mind going with him but that I could really use fourteen days in order to prepare for such a mission. Sadly Arrol was willing to compromise and reduce my time requirement down to seven days. I had figured if Arrol was going to have any time to attempt to learn my spells then he was going to need some time to do so. I had already decided that I other uses for the money he had given me to pay for his training.
The rest of the day went by quickly enough while I watched over the shoulder of Arrol try and comprehend the magics held within my Spellbook. His first day was unsuccessful which I could have merely taken as the fact that he was human but actually I realized he was not doubt having troubles due to the fact that he was trying to serve too many Masters. Actually not that I would ever tell him but I admired his ambition as I was sure his other Master Lord Z thought as well. It was obvious to me as well that is was also his greatest flaw for he dreamed bigger than his abilities ability to compensate. I actually worried about him if he were ever to be deprived of Lord Z. I will also admit that I hoped he stayed along long enough to continue to pay out.
I of course after he was done went downstairs to the common room to listen and observe the inhabitants of the Inn as has become a favorite pastime of mine as while I am an artist I also liked to have new inspiration for my more exotic works. I also figured it was as good a time as any to plan for what I planned to do with the gold I had acquired. It was not going to be an easy decision a few new spells, magic items of utility or magic items that of an offensive nature that would help to ensure my survival. I of course had a few days to think about it so I decided to just relax for a little while and consider my options. At the time I felt who knows give Arrol a little time and he might convince Lord Z to continue to pay out as it were. I was game and perhaps I even realized it might be more than a little grey of an area but I was alright it. I have never claimed to be moral person anyway so why try and kid myself.
